Eric Levin - Entrepreneur
It began in 5th
grade. "Fit to be Dyed" became the premier supplier
of tie-dyed tshirts (1988 chic) to the Dover-Sherborn grade school
students. Young Eric at the helm, the business turned a tidy profit,
but tshirts were only the beginning of his entrepreneurial path.
A seasoned bicycle mechanic, Eric saw the need for quality service
at the convenience of a customers own home. "Erics
Mobile Bike Repair," was born and proved to be a lucrative
business, helping pay for college at Clark University. During
his college years Eric started the Clark Snowboard Association
(CSA) to create interest in the sport and fund competition fees.
In his junior year Eric discovered the dust-encased remains of
the Clark Cable Network. After duct taping together a makeshift
television studio and producing a popular Sunday night show, Eric
raised over $140,000 in the form of funding and donated equipment
in order to rebuild the facility. Eric graduated Clark in 1999
with a double major in Communications and Fine Arts and a love
for cinema and still photography.
Post college the
.COM era ruled. "Boston On The Web" was
an online guide to the city started by Eric and a partner, geared
towards Bostons many college students. While the project
generated some interest, the business was dissolved in mid 2000.
The learning experience proved to be invaluable when, in May of
2000, Eric was hired on as the Creative Director for an information
technology company with an impressive track record. Reporting
directly to the CEO, Eric developed a strategic marketing plan
to support the technology behind a new enterprise software company,
Reflexis Systems, Inc. It was a plan that ultimately won Reflexis
some of the most impressive retail clients in the world (Allied
Domecq, Staples Inc., Home Depot, Marks and Spencer, Tesco) .
Eric continues to
work with Reflexis, but has taken considerable time to pursue
his love for furniture design, photography, motion picture and
music. As bassist in the band Plan B, Eric handles promotions,
networking, and growth. The bands performances have included
live radio broadcasts, large exposition shows, an appearance on
network TV (WB) and live shows all along the East Coast. Their
music is sold in stores nationwide and broadcast on radio stations
in the Northeast. As a freelance photographer Eric shoots for
a handful of PR firms in Boston and Providence, a myriad of local
and national publications and many other businesses from Boston
to NYC (see client list). His fine art photography is sold in
two galleries in Boston and has become part of a permanent collection
at Standard and Poors, Intercontinental Insurance, Independence
Wharf (470 Atlantic Ave) and other businesses in the city. As
for the immediate future, Eric wishes to continue to develop himself
as an artist, entrepreneur, and overall creative individual.
